Mechanical Design Engineer
Seeking a talented and motivated Mechanical Engineer to join our team. This role is responsible for the design, development and execution of packaging machinery. Additional responsibilities include coordinating equipment orders, working with customers on specifications, producing cost-effective designs and solutions to meet customer requirements..
Job Responsibilities:
- Design and develop mechanical components for packaging machinery to meet customer expectations and industry standards for quality and safety
- Utilize CAD software (SolidWorks) to create detailed 3D models, assemblies, and technical drawings
- Support manufacturing process with technical guidance, machine releases, troubleshooting and machine optimization
- Assist commercial team on proposals, concepts, estimating, and General Arrangement drawings
- Create, organize, and update all relevant product documents including drawings, Bill of Materials, specifications and manuals
- Support Field Service technicians as needed
- Lead development and sold projects collaboratively with sales and manufacturing teams
- Assist with equipment testing, data collection, and documentation of results
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- 2-5 years' experience in OEM environment with machinery design. Packaging Industry experience preferred.
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent preferred
- Must have experience with SolidWorks solid modeling and AutoCAD 2D CAD
- Strong Mechanical aptitude and experience with machined parts, sheet metal, weldments and overall machinery design
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office software and business ERP systems
- Open to occasional travel if required
